People are mad for Twitter over here. Not surprising really since I'm at the world's biggest music and nerd fest. I even got invited to a 'tweet up' by new mate Joie who was even wearing a twitter inspired ring. I told her that Twitter was illegal in Australia and that's why I don't use it. I also told her I have a pet crocodile at home.

You know how 11.11 is my favourite time? Well it is. Four super models in a row, it doesn't get better than that. Well it appears the power of 1111 has stretched all the way to street addresses too. Look what I found at 1111 South Congress Avenue today. A musical guitar flask. Just what I need. Jessica from Goodie Two Shoes was kind enough to show me how it works. I can't really remember the rest of the day. Lucky I took photos.

Message for today

I have a confession. I genuinely thought I'd find cowboys riding around on horses over here. Clearly I should have done more research. What I did find, however, are lots of people riding bikes around the city. This is Leona. She was nice enough to dink me over to the south side on her pedicab today. It was going well until she stopped at the bottom of the hill and told me to get out and walk.

Howdy Michis!

Greetings from Austin Texas. Home to big hats, big hair, big tacos, big rats (more about that later) and big bags under my eyes after spending 28 hours in transit to get here. It's early days but so far I've managed to eat more tacos than my pants can fit, walk into a pole while trying to read a map, and spotted a women walking a capybara on a lead. And I didn't have my camera with me. Once the jet lag wears off I'm sure my luck will change.

For years I have been walked past the Atherton Gardens public housing estate and playground and thought how it is strange that the playground has a private property sign on it. Now that the inaugural Fitzroy Outdoor Cinema has been announced we can crash the park for a night. Free films start at duck. BYO pillows.

I just wrote a whole story that was completely brilliant about vests and transseasonal dressing - how it is hideous, we all hate it, our last winter clothes are musty and rusty and it was insightful and funny. Then it disappeared. Someone tripped on the server cable and I had to start again. Well I'm not. I can't be bothered. Just like I can't be bothered washing woollens or brushing my hair.

Of these three Joseph was the lucky one. Not being that strong in Religious Studies I can only say this from one angle - a fashion angle. For Joseph got the technicolour dreamcoat didn't he? Do you think it was really magical? Or perhaps it is just a song and didn't really exist. Disappointing unless this bag has magical powers too, which I suspect it might.
